Dental Insurance FAQs
Is my dental insurance covering everything?
Dental insurance differs from health insurance. Health insurance exists to pay for unexpected events such as hospitalization or accidents. It also supprots preventive care and drug therapy where the patient pays only a small proportion of the cost.
Dental insurance exists to encourage preventive care. It essentially pays for cleaning and regular check-ups including X-rays. Some plans may also offer some rebates for other procedures such as fillings and crowns.

What does my dental plan cover?
The plan document should describe the benefit levels of the plan and list any exclusions or limitations. Your dentist cannot answer specific questions about your dental benefit or predict what your level of courage for a particular procedure will be. This is because plans written by the same third-party player or different by the same employer may vary according to the contracts involved. Therefore, you should ask the plan purchaser of the third-party player to answer your specific questions about coverage.
